How to add an Errata document to Aaltodoc

If errors are found in a thesis after it has been approved and saved in the Aaltodoc publication archive, the thesis on Aaltodoc is not replaced with a corrected version; instead, the corrections are made on a separate Errata document, which is attached to the thesis. Thesis authors may do this themselves after receiving permission from the thesis supervisor.

a) Adding an Errata document to Aaltodoc using your Aalto IT account.

  1. Retrieve your thesis from Aaltodoc.
  2. Copy the URL address of your thesis in the address bar of your browser, for example https://aaltodoc.aalto.fi/handle/123456789/23571
  3. Go to Errata by following this link and logging in with your Aalto IT account (username and password):

  4. In the form that opens, paste your thesis URL address, which you copied above.
  5. Ensure that your Errata document is in the correct file format, PDF/A. Instructions: Converting a file to a PDF/A compliant version.
  6. Select the Errata file from your computer and send it to Aaltodoc by pressing “Send Errata”.
  7. The Errata document will now appear in connection with your thesis.

b) Adding an Errata document to Aaltodoc without an Aalto IT account (e.g. if the account is no longer active after your graduation).

  1. Request a temporary link from aaltodoc-help@aalto.fi for adding your Errata.
  2. Click the link (which you will receive by email) to go to the Errata page.
  3. Ensure that your Errata document is in the correct file format, PDF/A. Instructions: Converting a file to a PDF/A compliant version.
  4. Select the Errata file from your computer and send it to Aaltodoc by pressing “Send Errata”.
  5. The Errata document will now appear in connection with your thesis.
